Two Rooks Doing Work
Austin Daye continues to sit more than he plays.
The guy has shown he can play a little. He’s no clown who needs to be baby sat like Darko Milicic.
There’s minutes to be had for Daye. How about one 5-7 minute shift in the first half at least? Let’s be creative, Kuester. No, no, I’m not one of those people calling for the firing of Kuester. But really, Detroit is 53 games under .500… let’s see what we got in that 15th overall pick (besides knowing he has a quick sense of humor). Like I’ve said before, I think it could be something real good.
Oh well, at least these two rookies drafted after Daye are showing what they’re made of on the hardwood.
Darren Collison (21st pick)

*Just about a week ago Collison had an 18 assist game and a 14 assist game
Ty Lawson (18th pick)

36 minutes played, 8-13 from the field, 4 boards, 4 feeds…25 points
Man oh man it irks me to know that between New Orleans and Denver they have four legit point guards and Detroit doesn’t even have one (not a knock on Stuckey).
Oh well, at least we have 11 small forwards…
Tops in the Association!
Let’s wait until the trade deadline.
Tay and Rip are being marketed … I don’t like saying that, but that’s the truth.
If Tay is gone, there’s suddenly lots of available minutes for Daye.
If Rip’s gone, there may be some extra minutes here and there as well.

February 11th, 2010 at 9:08 pmMakes sense Nugglove, actually I think Ben on the Nuggs would put them over the top provided Ben was fine with coming off the bench. Though the only intriguing player they have to offer (enticing to Detroit anyway) is Lawson, and I’m pretty sure he’s untouchable.

February 12th, 2010 at 2:04 pmI’m not sure trading Ben Wallace would be heartless, don’t you think he wants to win (at least that was what I got from his interview with ESPN)? If he wants to stay in Detroit than you obviously don’t make the trade, but if he does I think that’s a direction you have explore. Obviously, you guys couldn’t get a Lawson but you could get something to help you in the future (pick/young player/etc).
February 12th, 2010 at 7:23 pmI agree, in principle, but everything that Detroit fans know seems to indicate that Big Ben came here first and foremost to end his career here.
Obviously, everyone in the organization thought they’d be winning more, but it seems to me that contending wasn’t on the top of Big Ben’s priority list.
