But what is cool is the possibility that this gimpy and stiffy nibbling session could just be a big splat of baloney.
Remember how the new Head Coach was either going to be Doug Collins or Avery Johnson?
See what I mean?
But it’s not all gloom and doom in McCosky’s column. He makes a valid assertion that the Pistons are actually relevant again.
This was a critical summer for Dumars — a make or break summer. By the end of the 2008-2009 season, the Pistons were just about irrelevant in the world view of the NBA. But now, by any and all measures, Dumars has lifted the Pistons off the dead pile and given the fans exactly the kind of team it purports to love most — young, hungry, potentially over-achieving and on the rise.
Admittedly I have had my doubts of whether or not Dumars has really played his cards right so far this offseason, but right this instant I’m scanning over the roster, and you know what, I’m pumped for the season to start.
I’m getting a little giddy.
And I like it.
