I’d Rather Have Ratko Varda Back
Yeah I said it.
I’d rather spend money on a player who had literally a sip of coffee in the NBA than spend it on Ben Wallace.
In case you haven’t seen it, Sherrod Blakley on mlive wrote this earlier today:
AUBURN HILLS — The Detroit Pistons are in need of a big man, a relatively inexpensive one.
Ben Wallace, $10 million dollars richer after being bought out by Phoenix, is looking for a new home.
While there’s no deal imminent, the Pistons are going to explore the possibility of bringing one of the franchise’s greatest defenders, back to Detroit.
And for some of you that know me or have frequented the site, I love Big Ben.
But it is absurd to waste a roster spot on a guy that would have no future with the team. Ben doesn’t have any lift or explosion left anymore. NONE. Therefore he is essentially useless. It’s not like he developed a good jumper like Charles Oakley did and can be of some use to a team.
Plus, why would Ben want to play on a team that has zero chance of winning a championship this coming season? It just doesn’t make much sense. But Joe D. hasn’t made much sense lately either, so I dunno.
Hopefully this scenario is legless (pun intended).
