Pistons Now Nicely Positioned as 6th Best Team in the East
Does sarcasm come across well on the internet?
With the signings of Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon, the Pistons have slithered their way into the sixth position in the East. Joe D. will now have to pull a Kirk Gibson to maneuver the team into the top half of the East.
As it stands right now,
1. Celtics (healthy)
2. Magic
3. Cavs
4. Hawks
5. Heat/Bulls
6. Us/Heat/Bulls
- Bulls will be obviously hurt by the Gordon departure, but Deng will be back and the team is young and hungry
- A healthy Wizards team could easily win 40+ games
- Sixers aren’t horrible
- Bobcats might be in position to grab a playoff spot depending on any signings they make
- I like the direction of the Pacers
Consider this,
As it stands right now the Pistons have Charlie at the PF and Kwame ”Stonehands” Brown at the C.
I’ll say it again, Joe D. better have something else brewing.

I think Dumars wants entrance into Bill Simmons’ Atrocious GM Summit. Why go after Ben Gordon and pay so much $ to such a limited player when you’ve already got Rip? Particularly since they just signed Rip to a huge contract only a few months ago. CV isn’t a bad option, but I think Joe should’ve gone after Gortat for like the mid-level exception rather than Gordon. After all, the Pistons need a semi-decent center, not a third scoring guard.

I essentially agree SWB. Doesn’t make a lot of sense right now, but Joe isn’t done yet so I should probably hold off on the rampant negativity for now.
